The Ladies That Rock Awards Gala Dinner

As part of the International Women’s Day 2025 events, and following the success of the book “The Ladies That Rock The Rock” by Ayelet Mamo Shay, we will be running The Ladies That Rock The Rock Awards. This Award program will give the opportunity for the people of Gibraltar to nominate ladies who have contributed to Gibraltar, from all walks of life, to be recognised and rewarded for their achievements and efforts. The program will culminate with a Gala Dinner to be held on 6th March 2025 (International Women’s Day) at the Sunborn Hotel, where the Award Ceremony will take place. Ayelet Mamo Shay, a business woman, journalist and PhD researcher of small Jewish communities around the world, moved with her husband and children to Gibraltar from Israel following a job offer.

Since arriving in Gibraltar, Ayelet has felt that she has been “cheating” on her country by falling in love with the other country that has welcomed her so warmly- Gibraltar!

Despite the challenges and dilemmas of moving to a new country, Ayelet has embraced the opportunities offered by the relocation to become a good ambassador for both her native Israel and Gibraltar.

This life-changing experience has given Ayelet the inspiration to write her book Relocation Darling, Relocation!  – a realistic, humorous, emotional novel about the hottest and most charged topic in modern society today, one that touches many families across the world: relocation to another country in pursuit of a promising career.

Ayelet is the Co-Founder and Director of Benefit Business Solutions Ltd (benefitgibraltar.com) – a Gibraltar based business & innovation consultancy firm.

She also Co-founder of Gibraltar Pass (Gibraltarpass.com) and serves as the Chairwoman of the Gibraltar-Israel Chamber of Commerce (Gibrael.org), actively working to strengthen the business relations between the two countries and promoting business opportunities across the two ends of the Mediterranean.

Ayelet regularly lectures around the world on the power of the woman, relocation, Jewish communities, and business innovation.

In 2021 Ayelet received the Gibraltar Mayor Award, and her continued involvement in the community recently culminated in the publishing of her book “The Ladies That Rock The Rock” about her life and the life journeys of 22 powerful ladies that have contributed to Gibraltar in many ways.

The book has expanded into an annual program called “The Ladies That Rock The Rock Award” in cooperation with the Gibraltar Ministry of Equality recognising female achievements.

Ayelet is currently working on the second edition of the book, which will feature 25 additional Ladies That Rock The Rock!
